OBITUARY Eular Edgar Ferguson, Jr. March 19, 1927 – October 13, 2018 Eular Edgar “E E” Ferguson, 91, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, October 13, 2018. He graduated from Bartlett High School before serving 18 months in the Armed Forces during World War II. He retired from Sears after 44 years, was a member of Bartlett Hills Baptist Church and was the most generous, kind and loving person.
He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He was very active in the Shrine and Masonic Lodge, serving in many roles including, Bartlett Lodge #697 (now #211) Worshipful Master 1984 Worshipful Jr. Grand Deacon, Grand Lodge of Tennessee 2002 Bartlett Chapter #216 Order of the Eastern Star (now Bartlett OK Houck Chapter 216) Worthy Patron Grand Chaplain, Grand Chapter of Tennessee OES, 1996 Millington York Rite Bodies (now Rosemark York Rite Bodies) Joined all in 1978 Memphis Scottish Rite Bodies Joined all four Memphis Bodies on Nov 9, 1973 KCCH Oct 9, 1995 33° Scottish Rite Mason Oct 3, 2001 He worked in the Scottish Rite kitchen for over 30 years. He also served on the board of the Scottish Rite Foundation Al Chymia Shrine – Joined 1974 Served many years on the Hospital Transportation Staff delivering patients to the various Shrine Hospitals.
EE made 300-400 trips to the hospitals between 1985 and 2006. He made his 80th trip to the Cincinnati hospital just before his 80th birthday when drivers must officially retire from driving patients to the hospitals. EE Ferguson was also a member of the following appendant bodies: Knight Masons York Rite College Royal Order of Scotland Red Cross of Constantine Tall Cedars of Lebanon E E was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Ferguson, his parents, 4 brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his sons, Paul Ferguson (Audra) and Craig Ferguson (Jenny) and his grandchildren, Garrett and Conner, Casey and Rachel. He also leaves his longtime friend and companion, Betty Emmons. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 17 from 12:00 to 2:00 at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis.
Funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Memphis Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memphis Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children Transportation Unit, c/o Al Chymia Shrine Temple, Memphis,TN or the charity of your choice.
