OBITUARY Eve “Teen” Ina Wicke July 10, 1924 – July 23, 2018 Eve Ina “Teen” Wicke, at the age of 94, passed away on the morning of Monday, July 23, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born on July 10, 1924, in Creole. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church for most of her life.
Fiercely independent, Teen was a strong woman of faith. Her faith in God carried her through many ups and downs in her life, and her family finds comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her Father in heaven. She always loved sitting with family and friends chatting over a good cup of coffee, however her greatest joy will forever be her ten grandchildren.
They always made her so proud. Teen was a long-time member of the National Cattlewoman’s Association and American Legion Post of Creole. Most famously known for her peanut brittle, Teen was a lifelong supporter of the Knights of Columbus, she was also a Catholic Daughter of Court Mary Olive #1463.
Teen spent her life making a home for her three children and her husband of 56 years. Since Monroe often worked out of town, she was head of the house most of the time. She loved to shop, cook, and run the roads visiting friends and relatives.
Teen is survived by her daughter, Faye White and husband John of Lake Charles, LA; sons Gary Wicke and fiance Janet Miller of Grand Lake, LA, Greg Wicke and wife Wendy Wicke of Grand Lake; sisters-in-law Mayola Wicke of Grand Lake, and Dorothy Wicke of Bernardo, TX; grandchildren, Joan White Grab and husband Dain Grab of Madisonville, LA, Rachel White Cara and husband Matt Cara of Katy, TX, Jordan White and Nikala Harris of NewCastle, CO, David White and Otis Lundy of Moss Point, MS, Brett Wicke Bordelon and husband Sam Bordelon of Grand Lake, Devin Wicke, of Baton Rouge, LA, Katherine Wicke of Houston, TX, Amanda Wicke of Grand Lake, Joshua Wicke and wife Sydney Wicke of Grand Lake and Mary Wicke of Grand Lake; great-grandchildren Aidan, Olivia, and Josie Cate Grab, James and Ava Cara and Hoyt Bordelon; nephew Ronnie Theriot and wife Marlene of Spring, TX; as well as numerous Godchildren, great-nieces and nephews and beloved friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ursin ’Son’ and Veronica (Sturlese) Theriot; husband, John Monroe Wicke; brother, John ‘Man’ Theriot; brother-in-laws, Robert and Jerome Wicke; sister-in-laws, Estelle Theriot, Laura Mae Glueck, Frances ‘Tuttie’ Knippel. Services will be at St. Margaret Catholic Church at 10:00am on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 with Msgr.
Jace Eskind officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a Rosary at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume at Hixson Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 8:00am until the procession to the church.
