Obituary for Rodney Harst Rodney Dale Harst, 69, resident of Polk County, TX passed from this life into the next in the comfort of his home on June 30, 2018. Rodney was born on July 21, 1948 in Lake Charles, LA to Stephen S. Harst Jr. and Joyce Fontenot Harst. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and brother.

Rodney was an avid hunter which was his true passion in life. He worked for Tom’s Peanuts for many years then retired and worked for Lay’s Potato Chip’s and finally retired. Rodney possessed a strong faith and knew Christ as his Lord and Savior had a huge heart and loved playing Santa Clause every year for his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Glenda Harst, his children; Anthony Harst, Stephanie LeDoux, and Michellene Brown, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, his niece and goddaughter, Allison Rae Vigo and husband, nephews, Sterling and Oliver Vigo, and his sister, Mary Lois Harst who loved him dearly. The family will receive friends in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home on Monday, July 9, 2018 from 11:00 AM until time of service. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM.
