She was born September 24, 1918 to Leon, Sr. and Alma Strange. She loved sitting on her porch swing and gardening in her younger days.

She also loved to sit on the banks of ponds and creeks fishing. Mrs. Wheelington also enjoyed quilting and canning. Mrs Wheelington was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Uel Rushton and Loyce Wheelington; son, Charles M. Rushton; daughters, Alma Rushton, Erma Null Bustin and Lynda Hampton Britt; grandson, Dewayne Fryar; granddaughter, Jill Rushton; great-grandsons, Michael Bunch and Richard Snyder; brothers, Leon Strange, Jr. and Benton Strange; sisters, Mary Kathryn Hurd and Murielle Gregory.

She is survived by her son, Bruce Rushton and wife Beth of Magnolia, AR; Mary Ruth Fryar and husband Henry of Stamps, AR; son-in-law, Dean Bunch of Louisiana; brother, Truman Strange; four grandsons, Kenny Hampton and wife Dinnah of Stamps, AR, Evan Hampton, David Hampton and wife Emily of Falcon, AR and Charles Richard Rushton of Oklahoma; four granddaughters, Allison Griffin and husband Matthew of Magnolia, AR, Virginia Bunch, Denia Stevens, and Hollie Snyder and husband Rick of Florida; 13 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and 3 great great great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel, on Thomas Street, in Stamps, AR with Bro. David Hampton officiating.

Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Stamps, AR under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2019, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Smith Home Chapel in Stamps, AR. Online registration is available at www.
