Lurene Estelle Hopson September 02, 1932 – January 17, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Lurene Estelle Hopson, 86, of Prescott, AR passed away peacefully at a residence on Thursday January 17, 2019. She was born September 2, 1932 in Chidester, AR to the late Mr. Clayborn L. Sockwell, Sr and Mrs. Lillian Pearl Box-Sockwell. She was a loving daughter, and a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, and her husband Mr. C.L. Hopson and is survived by three sons, Mr. Gary (Thelma) Hopson of Prescott, AR, Mr. Kenneth Hopson of Prescott, AR and Mr. Franklin Hopson of Rockford IL. Four daughters, Ms. JoAnne Guillemette of Chicago, IL, Mrs. Margaret (Charles) Gulkey, Mrs. Patricia (James) Reedy and Mrs. Eva (Curtis) Howard all of Rockford IL. Six Sisters, Mrs. Ollie (LeAnder) Hubbard of Rockford, IL, Ms. Cora Tidwell of Prescott, AR, Ms. Eva Haynie of Fountain CO, Mrs Stella (James) Marshall and Ms. Dorothy Duckett both of Rockford IL.

Two brothers, Mr. Clayborn (Phyllis) Sockwell and Mr. Enree Sockwel both of Rockford, IL as well as a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Prescott Church of Christ, Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. with Bobby Shaw serving as the Officiant and Eulogist. Interment will be immediately following at Craven Cemetery in Prescott AR under the direction of the A.O. Smith Funeral Home and its Staff.

Viewing will be at the A.O. Smith Funeral Home Chapel 415 East First Street, Stamps, AR 71860 Friday January 25, 2019 from 11:00 A.M until 4:00 P.M. and a short visitation at the Prescott Church of Christ from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Saturday morning, January 26, 2019, just prior to the start of the service.
