Alma Mae Ferrell February 05, 1927 – January 01, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Alma Mae Ferrell, age 91, of Stephens, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019, in Camden, Arkansas. She was born on February 5, 1927, in Stephens, AR, to Elisha Alvin and Alma (Cloud) Carter. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Stephens.

She loved her church, where for many years, she taught the pre-school Sunday school class, later teaching the senior adult class, active in WMU and for many years enjoyed being in the Church Chior. She was a Registered Nurse, nursing her entire career at Ouachita County Medical Center, in Camden. She retired with over 20 years of service, after retirement, she continued her nursing career (at Ouachita County Medical Center) for many more years.

She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, and for many years, she was involved with the Stephens Community Center. She was preceded in death by: her parents: husband, M.G. Ferrell: brother, Lloyd Carter: sisters, Marjorie Westmoreland, Helen Long, and Dorothy England; and a grandchild, Kalom Emerson. She is survived by: a son, Steven Ferrell, and wife Linda D., of Stephens, AR; daughters, Dianne Little, and husband Dennis of West Monroe, LA, and Teresa Emerson, and husband Jackie of Louann, AR; brother, Alvin Carter, Jr., and wife Janette of Stephens, AR: sister, Willie Jinks, of Stephens, AR; grandchildren, Corey Little, Daryl Little, Kevin Ferrell, Eric Ferrell, Kevin Emerson; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 6, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Stephens, AR, with Bro. Sandy Carter officiating. Interment will follow at the Stephens Cemetery in Stephens, AR, under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Homes in Stamps, Arkansas.

Visitation will be 1:00pm until service time, at First Baptist Church in Stephens, AR, on January 6, 2019. Honoring Mrs. Ferrell as her pallbearers are: Corey Little, Daryl Little, Kevin Ferrell, Eric Ferrell, Kevin Emerson, and Kathan Emerson. Honorary pallbearers are Keeton Emerson and Colton Emerson.
