James Earl Hicks October 24, 1945 – January 05, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card James Earl Hicks, 73, formerly of Bodcaw, Arkansas passed away from this life January 5, 2019 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born October 24, 1945 in Hope, Arkansas to Thomas Jefferson and Nannie Lee (Martin) Hicks. James was a retired mechanic and logger.

He also served in the Armed Forces of the United States Army during the 1970’s. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. James loved being outdoors gardening, hunting and fishing until he was no longer able to due to his health.

Even then he would share stories about his outdoor adventures. Most of all James loved his family and spending time with them. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Lewisville, Arkansas.

Through his relationship and love for our God he was confident and ready to meet our Lord and Savior. During his final hours, with his family at his side, he was unafraid and at peace. He was dearly loved and will be missed beyond measure.

Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Jefferson Hicks; his wife, Carolyn; and a sister, Barbara. He is survived by his mother, Nannie Lee (Martin) Hicks of Rosston, Arkansas; daughter, Angie Glass and husband Jim of Laneburg, Arkansas. sons, Paul Hicks and wife Amy of Traskwood, Arkansas; Charlie Hicks and wife Holly of Bauxite, Arkansas; and Jerry Hicks and wife Sharon of Bodcaw, Arkansas; Left to mourn his passing is a brother and two sisters and they are Tommy and Joyce Hicks of Rosston, Arkansas, Brenda Sue Hicks of Rosston, Arkansas and Janice Tippitt and Pete of Prescott, Arkansas; He leaves 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren to cherish his memory.

Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. A private family service will be held for Mr. Hicks. A public visitation will be at The A.O. Smith Funeral Home on Thomas Street in Stamps on Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. online registration is available at www.
