Farrell A. Janssen, 83, of West Point, IL died at 3:35 pm Friday October 19, 2018 at the North Adams Home in Mendon, IL. He was born on September 28, 1935 in Manhattan, KS to Edward and Sylvia Cutshall Janssen. He first married Eleanor Ellingson.

He later married Marcia Reimers on February 1, 1964 in Salinas, CA. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2011. Farrell was a retired Computer Programmer and Mathematician having worked most of his life in Arizona before moving to West Point.

He loved dogs and enjoyed traveling around the area to local gas stations and grocery stores talking with friends who would enjoy seeing him as he was such a kind man. He is survived by a daughter, Kati (Mike) McClelland of Bowen, IL, a son, Greg (Christine) Evans of Camp Verde, AZ, 7 grandchildren, Larrisa Fears, Jacob Evans, Kerra Evans, Felicia Manuel and Bailey, Tristan and Kolby McClelland, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Sidney Janssen and Phillip Janssen and a sister, Judy. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Cremation has been accorded. There are no services planned. The Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL is handling arrangements.
