FLORENCE MARY PFEIFER August 03, 1941 – December 06, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Sympathy Gifts View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Florence Pfeifer, 77, Granville, formerly of Drake and Anamoose, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Trinity Homes in Minot. Florence Miller, daughter of Alex and Christine (Heydt) Miller, was born August 3, 1941 at Anamoose. She grew up on the family farm near Orrin and attended a nearby country school.

On April 20, 1959 she was married to Ralph Pfeifer in Orrin. They made their home in Minot where she worked as a waitress. In 1967 they moved to California where they managed apartment buildings for several years.

They returned to North Dakota in 1971 and began farming in the Anamoose area. In 1980 they moved to Drake and operated the local Mobil Station until 1984. From 1984 until 1990, Florence worked as a cook and waitress at JW’s restaurant in Harvey.

They then purchased the Longhorn Bar in Anamoose, which they operated until 1993 when she began working at the Harvey nursing home, first as a CNA for 7 years and later in housekeeping for four years. She retired in 2004 to care for her husband who passed away on February 24, 2006. In 2009 Florence moved to Granville to start a new venture in her life with her family and continue her passion with her flower gardens.

She is survived by one sister, Anita (Allen) Kleinsasser of Rapid City, SD; 3 brothers, Clifford (Olene) Miller of Yuma, AZ, Nathaniel (Lorna) Miller of Hubert, OR, and Edmund (Anna) Miller of Minot, ND; 3 sisters-in-law, Loretta Mazza of Philipsburg, MT, Arlene Miller of Anaconda, MT and Judy Miller of Helena, MT; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; 7 brothers, Alex, Milton, David, Jacob, Lester, Albert and Joey; and 4 sisters, Alvina Schello, Dorothy Opp, Esther Freelander and Lorraine Miller. Visitation: Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM followed by a 5:00 PM Prayer Service at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Drake.

Funeral: Wednesday, December 12 at 10:30 A. M. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Burial: St. Margaret Mary Catholic Cemetery Arrangements with Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home of Drake.
