Life Story for Florence Plant THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF FLORENCE “FLO” PLANT WATERBURY – Florence “Flo” Plant age 75 of Waterbury, passed away on September 4th 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Benjamin F. “Fred” Plant. Flo was born August 18, 1943 in Hartford, CT, the daughter of the late Joel and Cecilia (Gunner) Bartlett.
She was a graduate of Wilby High School and worked as a receptionist at Saint Mary’s Hospital for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed going camping in Maine with her family, trips to the casino, knitting and crocheting, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and granddogs. Among her survivors are her four daughters; Melissa Chandler and her husband, Austin of Plymouth, CT Joelyne “Jody” Holley and her husband, David of Watertown, Heather Gugliotti and her husband, David of Waterbury and Amanda DeCarlo of Waterbury.
She is also survived by her sisters; Annie Cronin and her husband Charlie of Woodbury, CT and Rita Spriggs of West Virginia, as well as her brother, Maynard Bartlett and wife Rita of Farmington, CT and in addition, she leaves her adoring grandchildren, Octavia, Osvaldo, Abigail, Morgan, Marcello and Ella. She was predeceased by her daughter, Allison Plant and her brother, Ernest Bartlett. Funeral services for Mrs. Plant will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd directly to New Pine Grove Cemetery Meriden Rd, Waterbury.
Relatives and friends may visit with Florence’s family on Monday morning from 12:00 noon until leaving for the cemetery at 1:00pm.
