Floyd’s Obituary Floyd Wayne Midgett, 73, of 100 ARPDC Street, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019, in his home. Mr. Midgett was born in Norfolk, VA on July 11, 1945, and was the son of the late Floyd Oswald and Mildred Margaret Beasley Midgett. A retired cab driver in Annapolis, MD following 26 years of employment, he later worked as a bridge tender with Pungo Ferry Bridge for 11 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jane Conklin Bennett, a brother, Thomas Midgett, and by two grandchildren, Russell and Casandra Neighoff. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Beverly Ann Jenkins Midgett; two sons, Robert Bennett and wife, Terrie, of Mark, IL, and Charles Bennett and wife, Valerie, of Culpepper, VA; two sisters, Virginia Teague of Elizabeth City, and Lovanda Layborne of Scranton, PA; a brother, Dwayne Midgett of Elizabeth City; three grandchildren, Ashley, John, and Donna Bennett; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday at noon in Faith Assembly of God.

Friends may join the family for a time of visitation in the church immediately following the service.
