Forest’s Obituary Forest C. Conner, 87 of Chilhowee, Missouri; formerly of Raytown passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Country Club Care Center in Warrensburg. Forest Clinton Conner was born June 21, 1931 in El Dorado Springs, Missouri, son of Omer B. and Novella M. (McKnight) Conner. He graduated from high school in Raytown.

He served in the army, and later, in the Navy Seabees, during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Betty Jane Bird on January 21, 1951 in Raytown, Missouri. Forest was united in marriage to Barbara Ruth Vogelsang on November 7, 1975 in Warrensburg.

The couple made their home in Raytown until moving to Chilhowee in 1978. He was a self-employed carpenter for many years. He was also a fireman in Independence, retiring in 1992 as a Captain.

Forest was an active member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. His hobbies included fishing, wood working and spending time with his family Survivors include his three children: Michael Conner of Chilhowee, MO; Holli Burge of Warrensburg, MO and Craig Burge of Holden, MO; brother: Dennis (Joanne) Conner of Centerview, MO; six grandchildren: Nathan (Ashly) Conner of Booneville; MO; Matthew (Megan) Conner of Texas; Jason Burge of Belton, MO; Aimee McCurdy of Holden, MO; David Eppright (Fiance’: Stefanie Foster) of Holden, MO and Christi (Keith) Riecke) of Wentzville, MO; seven great grandchildren: Morgan and Paisleigh Conner; Abbi, Adam Burge and Danielle McCurdy, and Andreaw Dunsmore and Marie Bryant and five great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara; son: Terry Bruce Conner and brother: Max C. Conner.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23rd at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Brother Neil Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery in Raytown with Military Honors provided by United States Navy Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Jerry Short, Craig Adkins, Bill Eppright, David Eppright, Nathan Conner and Matthew Conner.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Dennis Jones. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
