There will be prayers at 12:30 pm at the Fox Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. John Keehner at 1:00 pm at St. Christine Church, Youngstown, OH for Frances V. Connelly, of Lake Milton, who passed away peacefully Monday evening. Frances was born on November 6, 1926, in Youngstown, a daughter of Frank and Genevieve Berry Ferranti.

A 1945 South High School graduate, she graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1948. She worked at St. Elizabeth Medical Center from 1948 to 1990, retiring as head nurse of the neonatal intensive care unit. She belonged to the Catholic Nurse Association and was a member of St. Christine Church.

Frances married William R. Connelly on September 10, 1949, and together they would raise two children. Frances is survived by her son Mark (Marion) Connelly of Dallas, TX, her daughter Kimberly (Randy) Velk of Lake Milton, two grandchildren Molly (Adam) Dennison and Corey Velk, two great-grandchildren Colton and Chloe, her twin sister Teresa Coleman of New Middletown and a sister-in-law Clara Ferranti of Canfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William R. Connelly, he passed away on July 19, 2008; her brothers Joseph Richards and Larry Ferranti and sister Margaret Costello.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Sunday, April 29 at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market Street, Youngstown. Donations may be made in Francis’ name to Antoine Village, 2675 N. Lipkey Road, North Jackson, OH 44451 or Crossroads Hospice, 3473 Boettler Drive, Suite E, Uniontown, OH 44685. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the Antoine sisters and the staff of Antoine Village and Crossroads Hospice for their compassionate care of Frances.
