OBITUARY Francina Kern August 17, 1928 – October 30, 2018 KERN, Francina “Beth” Bethel- age 90, of Hingham, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2018. Born in LaGrange, Georgia, she graduated from Wesleyan College with a degree in Liberal Arts. She met her husband in Indianapolis, Indiana and lived and worked in Cincinnati, Ohio before moving to Scituate in 1955.

She was a member of the First Trinitarian Congregation Church of Scituate for 52 years, where she served as Treasurer, a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Religious Education committee and Board of Trustees. She was also a member of the First United Methodist church of Clearwater, FL. Dedicated to community service, she was a volunteer of Hospice of the South Shore and Habitat for Humanity in FL.

She will always be remembered by her friends and family for her generous and loving heart. She was the loving wife of the late Arthur Charles Kern Jr She leaves two children Elly Kern,; partner JJ Laprise and Charles Kern; daughter- in – law Karin Kern and four grandchildren, Niles Tooher, and grand daughter in law Kelly Tooher, Griffin Tooher, Phillip Kern and grand daughter in law Sara Benbow-Kern and Andrea Kern and her fiancé David.

She is the cherished great- grandmother or Zavras and Ronin Tooher. A funeral will be held on Saturday November 17, 2018 at 11am from First Trinitarian Congregational Church, 381 Country Way, Scituate. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
