YOUNGSTOWN– Frank A. Kusky, Sr, 87, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2019 at Assumption Village while under hospice care. Frank was born on June 26, 1931 in Youngstown, a son of the late Frank and Ann Kusky. Frank attended The Rayen High School, where he met the love of his life, Betty Jean Uncapher.

He joined the Ohio National Guard and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. Upon completing his enlistment in the Marines, he then enlisted in the United States Army. After proudly serving his country, and married his wife, Betty.

Before retiring, Frank worked 40 years for United States Steel Corporation and then McDonald Steel Corporation as a crane operator on 14 Mill and the machine shop. He was a committeeman for the United Steelworkers Boy Scout Troop 21, enjoying camping and hiking. He spent his time riding his motorcycle, working on his house and doing yardwork, and going on car rides with his wife.

He looked forward to a good cup of coffee while having conversation with his fellow workers and many friends at the truck stop and McDonald’s restaurant. He loved caring for and walking his many dogs over the years. Frank leaves behind to cherish his memory, his sons, Frank A.(Doris) Kusky of Campbell and Thomas M. (Robin) Kusky of Youngstown, 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Jean, whom he married on May 29, 1950, and who passed away on March 1, 2014, and two grandsons. Per Frank’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. The family has entrusted Frank’s care to the Kubina-Yuhasz-Wasko Funeral Home.
