OBITUARY Frank Charles JANSKY October 19, 1929 – January 11, 2019 Frank Charles Jansky, 89, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on January 11, 2019 at the Belton Regional Medical Center. Frank was born on October 19, 1929 in Rockland Lake, New York. He was the son of Edward William and Claire (Gubser) Jansky.

Frank joined the United States Air Force and served in England from 1948 – 1951 and was involved with the Berlin Airlift. While stationed in England he met Rosalind Cone and they were married on February 24, 1951. They returned to the United States in 1951 where Frank worked as a Machinist for ten years at Wilcox & Gibbs in Neyack, New York.

He then joined Grant Industries in 1963 and was a Metal Fabrication Sales Representative until he retired. He was a longtime member of Longview United Methodist Church where he was the former President of the Men’s Club. He also served on the Administration Board and was an usher.

He was currently a member at One Spirit United Methodist Church. Frank was a dedicated volunteer for Meals on Wheels and numerous organizations. He also helped with the LIFT (Living Information for Today) Program where he served as a volunteer coordinator for almost 20 years for the funeral home.

He served in both the North and South LIFT groups. Frank also had a newspaper article written about him in the Kansas City Star, titled “Report of his death evokes lively response”. Because of a clerical error, the Social Security Administration classified Frank Jansky dead at the age of 75 and cut off his benefits.

Frank presented proof – documents and his living, breathing body – he was reclassified as among the living. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalind Jansky in 2001 and a brother, Edward Jansky Jr He is survived by his sister, Marion Lynch and seven nieces and nephews.
