OBITUARY Bill D. Loughery August 21, 1932 – January 7, 2019 Bill Loughery, 86, Gladstone, passed away January 7, 2019. Services are Saturday, January 12 at Hillside Christian Church, 900 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO. Visitation is from 10:00 – 11:00 AM.

Funeral at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Terrace Park Cemetery. Bill was born August 21, 1932 in Kirksville, MO to Lestel and Mary Witty Loughery.

He grew up in Nickellton, MO and graduated from LaPlata High School. He married Lora Doone Bailey in 1953, they enjoyed 65 years together. Bill served four years in the US Air Force.

He received his BS and Masters Degrees from Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, MO. He held coaching and teaching positions in Frankford, MO, Hannibal, MO and more than 20 years in the North Kansas City School District at Northgate Junior High and North Kansas City High School. He was a member of Hillside Christian Church where he served as a Deacon and Elder since 1968.

He was an avid MU Football fan with season tickets for over 50 years. He loved sports. Bill is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lary Loughery.

Survivors include his wife Lora Doone; two sons, Doug (Tawnia) and Stan; grandsons Sean (Michelle) and Hayden; and great-grandson Cooper. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Hillside Christian Church in Bill’s name. Condolences may be left at www.
