The Rosary will be prayed at 8:30 a.m. followed by Visitation 9-10:45 a.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 14, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee’s Summit Rd. , Independence, MO 64055.

Entombment will be at Mount Olivet Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to St. Mark’s Parish. Carl was born June 21, 1921, to the late Paul and Pauline (Palermo) Gimmarro and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII.

He married Geraldine Diecidue in 1947 and they were together for 62 years before her death in 2009. In 1953 he started ‘Carl Gimmarro Builder’, developing many subdivisions in Independence and Blue Springs as well as several commercial properties for 60 years. Carl loved the country and raising cattle and was a member of the Cursillo Movement.

Along with his parents and wife, Carl was preceded in death by his daughter, Joann Gimmarro; and siblings, Lawrence Gimmarro, Nancy LaBella, Margaret DeGrado, Jasper Gimmarro, and Virginia Roberts. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Kathy Gimmarro; his grandchildren, Carlo and Jennifer Gimmarro, Joe and Stephanie Gimmarro, Gerry and Mark Lamanno; his great-grandchildren, Paul, Anthony, Sam, Vince, Carlo, Cecelia, Christina, Katherine, Angela, Sofia, and Anna; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph Gimmarro, Vesta Gimmarro, Paul and Anna Marie Gimmarro; brother-in-law, Carl LaBella; and many nieces and nephews. The family offers thanks to the ICU nurses at Centerpoint Medical Center for the care given to Carl.
