Obituary for Fred “Fritz” Process Fred W. “Fritz” Process, 80, of Sagola, MI, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. He was born March 18, 1938 in Sagola, MI, son of the late Walter and Ruth Process. As a young boy, Fred attended the Sagola and Channing Schools and worked with his brothers on the potato farm owned by his uncle, Francis Drake.

He also spent weekends and nights cutting wood with his brother, Robert, as well as working for the Sagola Lumber Co. building fences and delivering them to Wisconsin. His love of wood started there and transformed to hours spent in his woodshop making numerous projects for family and friends. He proudly entered his “wooden horses” and sleds in parades taking first place many times.

In 1959, at age 21, he took a position with the Milwaukee Road and worked his way up to machine operator. Fred married Joanne Van Oss in 1960. In 1980, he moved to Green Bay where he was employed with the Soo Line and eventually the Wisconsin Central, retiring at age 55 after 35 years of service.

Fritz was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Sagola and he loved his church family, especially Pastor Ryan. He enjoyed having a cup of coffee on Sunday mornings before church with “the group”. He belonged to the Chippewa Snow Cats and enjoyed many of their activities and trail grooming.

Fritz loved watching the old western movies and enjoyed listening to the old country western songs. Fritz will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by three children, David (Patricia) Process and Larry (Judy) Process, and Michelle (Chris) Tremmel; three grandchildren, Scott, Allan (Leanna), and Paul (Sarah); three great grandchildren, Jackson, Hunter, and Feeanna.

Two step grandchildren, Cory and CaSandra; On May 31, 2008, Fritz married his childhood friend Rae (Burns) Black. Fritz loved his “Country Ranch” and spent many hours outside working in their garden and flower garden. He loved working in the woods and making firewood.

Fritz is further survived his wife, Rae; Stepson, Gene Black (Victoria and daughter, Dr. Samantha), Mark (Sherri) Black and children Zackary, Nicholas and Douglas Black and deceased step granddaughter, LeAnn Marie; brothers and sisters, LeRoy (Helen) Process, Ronald (Sheri) Process, Marlys (Rudy) Hoffman, Terry (Mary) Process, and Gail (Don) Hamby. Fritz had a very special sidekick for 16 plus years, his dog Scooter. He was preceded in death by a son, James; three siblings, Robert Process, Clarice Lefebvre; and infant sister, Nancy Process.

Friends may call from 10 am until 12 pm (noon) on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Sagola Presbyterian Church in Sagola, MI. Funeral services will be held at 12 pm at the church. Rev.

Ryan Flunker will officiate. Burial will be in the Sagola Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.
