Frederick A. Beard, age 92, passed away December 28, 2018 after a short illness. He was born May 1, 1926 in Akron, Ohio to Albert George Beard and Mary Alice Coals. Frederick graduated from West High School in Akron.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946 in the 5th Cavalry where he was a bugler, and he worked for Firestone for 36 years. He had a large music collection and collected stamps and coins, and enjoyed bus trips, photography and family gatherings. Preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

He will be missed by six nieces, many great nieces and nephews and many good friends. Special thanks to David and Jane Kline and to Alliance Community Care for all their loving care. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 11:00 am at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave.

, Barberton, OH 44203. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Akron. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11 am.
