passed away Friday, April 20, 2018, at his home. Born in Johnson City, New York, on June 16, 1947, Fred was the only child of the late Frederick C. and Magdalene (Chrusch) Hume, Sr He graduated from Johnson City High School, and attended Broome Community College.

Prior to his retirement in 2008, Fred worked as a simulation software tester/developer at Singer-Link, a programmer at GAF/Ozalid, and provided help desk and engineering support at IBM, Lockheed Martin, and NYSEG. In the 1970’s, Fred also worked as a DJ at Dinoz in Binghamton. Surviving are a daughter Karlynn Hume; granddaughter Allicia Lane; grandson Tyler Kundrata; great-granddaughter Aurora Mohrman.

He is also survived by his beloved dog, Zeus. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 4, at Barber Memorial Home, 428 Main St., Johnson City, NY. Fr.

Ilya Gotlinsky will conduct a short memorial service at 7:00pm. Interment will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, NY, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Fred’s memory to the animal charity of your choice.

Special thanks to family, friends, and neighbors who were there for Fred in his final years.
