Gail Robert Hunter, 95, formerly of Lander, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Kinzua Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Gail was born on August 6, 1923, to the late George and Marion (Smith) Hunter. He graduated from Warren High School in 1941 and joined the U.S. Army, serving from 1943 – 1945.

He worked for United Refining and then owned his own gas station. Gail retired from the Waste Water Treatment Plant at the State Hospital. He was an active member of the Youngsville Legion.

Throughout his life, Gail enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. Gail is survived by his three children, Gary (Helen) Hunter, of Butler, Ronald Hunter, of Lander, and Robert (Deborah) Hunter, of Scandia; 5 grandchildren, Marcy Stanton, Scott Hunter, Carrie Salapek, Erin Hunter, Lauren Hunter; and 7 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Gail is preceded in death by his wife, Janet (Howe) Hunter, whom he married in May of 1942. A graveside service will take place at Warren County Memorial Park at the convivence of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be given to the Salvation Army, 311 Beech St, Warren, PA 16365.
