LOWVILLE – Gary Anthony Schneeberger, 84, of NYS Route 12, died Sunday evening, June 10, 2018 at his home, under the loving care of his family and Lewis County Hospice. A funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville with Rev. Jay Seymour officiating.

Calling hours will be from 3-7 p.m. prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Friends of Lewis County Hospice, P.O. Box 266, Lowville, NY 13367. He is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years, Nancy; four children, Laurie Larsen of Goose Creek, SC; Mickey Schneeberger of Lowville; Heidi and Neal Baldwin of Parish; Lee and Crandall LaPlante of Carthage; a sister-in-law, Nina Schneeberger of Croghan; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is predeceased by a sister, Mary Frank and three brothers, Francis, Lyle and Gerald Schneeberger. Gary was born on August 11, 1933 in Beaver Falls, NY, a son of the late Jacob and Charlotte Martin Schneeberger. Gary was a pinsetter at Beaver Falls Community Hall, beginning at age 12.

He graduated from Beaver River Central School. While in school, he was a star athlete and was captain of the football team and was class president. He was also active with clubs and organizations during high school.

He worked for J.P. Lewis in Beaver Falls. Gary worked for AMF in Lowville for 29 ½ years. On July 2, 1960, he married Nancy Ann Longamore at St. Stephen’s Church, Croghan, with Rev.

Reginald Baliman officiating. He also worked for Nortz and Virkler, then for The ARC for 19 years, as supervisor and fundraising co-ordinator . Gary was well known as the barbeque chicken king of Lowville.

He was a past member of BPOE 1605, Lowville Elks Lodge. He played softball for 14 years for the Fargo Inn. Gary was a sports fanatic, he was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, NY Giants, and Syracuse University sports.

Gary was also an avid bowler. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Condolences may be made online at www.
