Obituary for Gary Allen Waford 51, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center surrounded by those who loved him. A void has been created by his passing here on Earth but a gap has been filled in Heaven where he is now reunited with his mother Mary Ann Gardner Waford and father Ernie Waford Gary was a resident at Blessed Assurance in Boston, Kentucky since 2013 where he lived life to its fullest. He loved going to daily program, participating in trivia, and seeing his many friends.
Gary had a unique grasp of historical information being able to, among other things, recite the US Presidents from George Washington to the present day as well as tell you everything there is to know about each and every fight that Muhammad Ali fought. Gary had a gift to touch and inspire everyone that he met and even those who did not get the chance to meet him. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sisters, Debbie Vogel (Jeff) of Lexington, Jamie Calzi (Dave) of Louisville; nieces and nephews, Matthew Vogel, Andrew Vogel (Alison) and great nephew, Carter Vogel, Emily Berry (Edward) and Madelyn Calzi who he inspired to seek a career as a teacher of individuals with disabilities.
His Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2018 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville, with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the funeral home.
