Gary D. Hinkle, age 78, of Grove, OK passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Grand Lake Villa after a long illness. Gary was born on October 20, 1940 to Winfred and Mary (Lee) Hinkle in Bartlesville, OK. He grew up and graduated from Afton High School.

He attended one year of college before joining the U.S. Air Force, where he proudly served his country for 4 years. On June 6, 1975, Gary married Peggy Nichols and from that union came 5 sons. Peggy preceded him in death on October 15, 1988.

On June 26, 1991, Gary married Nancy Hudgens in Miami, OK and the couple moved to Grove from Nowata. Gary had many occupations in his life, but most notably, he owned and operated Twilight Donuts in Grove for 10 years. Gary was a hard-working family man that never missed an opportunity to tell a good story.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and wife, Peggy Hinkle. Left to cherish Gary’s memory: wife, Nancy Hinkle of Grove, sons: Joby Moser and wife, Jalynna of Owasso, OK, Kaelson Moser of Grove, Gary Hinkle II and wife, Michelle of Rogersville, MO, Justin Hinkle of Del City, OK and Christapher Hinkle of Owasso, OK. 2 step daughters, Tina Kennedy and husband, Layton of Verdigris and Tammy Tiry, and husband Terry of Grove; sister, Paula Morris of Delaware, OK and Howard Lee of Oklahoma City, OK, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
