Gary Lee Hazelton, retired Sunoco employee, passed away early Saturday morning, April 14, 2018 in the Stillwater Medical Center at the age of 73 years. The son of the late George P. Hazelton and Mae Phillips Hazelton, Gary was born on April 26, 1944 in Yale, Oklahoma, and was raised and educated in the Yale community, graduating from Yale High School. He was united in marriage to Becky Schuler and to this union two children, Jason and Angela were born.

On December 6, 1996 he was married… Read More » to Sharon Browning in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Gary was a veteran, serving his Country in the United States Air Force. He attended First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ; for many years he was a pilot and had owned his own plane.

He loved spending time outdoors, riding and caring for horses, shooting guns, belonging to a target shooting club, tinkering with cars and watching cowboy westerns and his favorite was watching NCIS. He was a talker and was well known for his story telling. He is survived by his wife Sharon Hazelton of the home; two children, Jason Hazelton and his wife Laura and Angela Earp and her husband Wyatt, of Cushing; a sister Sandra Veatch of Stillwater; three step-children, Jayni Graham and her husband Tracy, Jyson Wright and John White, II; 3 grandchildren, Genah, Jalie and Sampson; 6 step-grandchildren, Jeremy, Brandon and wife Aubrey, Aryan, Nycol, Toran and Western Lee; one great-granddaughter Braelynn; three step-great-grandchildren, Cooper, Kaydence and Landon; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Norma Cole. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ with Pastor Jim Wilhelm officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawson Cemetery at Yale.

The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Floyd Family Center, east of the funeral home.
