OBITUARY Gavin T. “Tommy” Powers June 15, 1933 – August 15, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Gavin T. “Tommy” Powers, 85, of Louisville was born on June 15, 1933 to the late Virgil Lee and Nellie (Layman) Powers and passed from this life on August 15, 2018. Mr. Powers was a retired employee of Englehart Industries, a member of St. James Church, Shawnee Masonic Lodge #830, and an Army Veteran. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Anna Powers; and a daughter, Kathy Rencher.

Left to cherish his memory is a son, Thomas Powers; step son, Dale Meyers (Leona); 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Powers will be held at 10 am Monday at St. James Church, 3535 Taylor Blvd. Interment with military honors will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-8 pm at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Masonic Rites will be held at 7:30 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to Kosair Charities.
