Gentry McMichael April 28, 1960 – February 15, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Gentry LaVell McMichael Olivero was born on April 28, 1960 in Harlem Hospital to the late Jose and Georgi Olivero. Gentry, known to all as “Sparrow”, was born in Harlem, but The Bronx was where he was raised. Gentry received his education in Harlem and The Bronx.

He attended P.S. 144, I.S. 151 and Morris High School. Gentry loved life and all it offered. But, if you knew Sparrow, you knew he loved Elvis, The Beatles, Queen and Elton John.

He loved fishing and talking trash. He was also known for his love of football, his favorite teams being The 49ers and the Raiders. Gentry leaves to rejoice in his memory: his mother, Georgi Olivero of Virginia; his siblings, Victoria, Graciela, Guillermo, Pleshette, Steyvon, and Tiffany, all of The Bronx; two daughters, Cynthia and Regina; one son, Sesar; one step-daughter, Stephanie; three grandchildren, JaVell, Giana and Angela; one niece, Jessica; one nephew, Equillermo; one son-in-law, Fredrick; aunt, China; cousin/“Wifey”, Lafay; and a host of aunts, uncles, family and friends.
