George Albert Gilbert, 56, of Beloit, WI, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 in his home. He was born on June 7, 1962 in Beloit, WI, the son of Charles and Margaret (Hagestad) Gilbert. George was a graduate of South Beloit High School.

He married Tammy Burton on September 19, 1992 in Beloit, WI. George was employed by Fairbanks Morse and was a truck driver for many places including General Motors. George was the “go to” guy.

He enjoyed teaching and mentoring with everything he knew. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, comedy shows and telling jokes himself. Survivors include his wife, Tammy Gilbert of Beloit, WI; sons, Charles and Thomas Gilbert both of Beloit, WI; sisters, Juanita (Elwood) Garetson of Janesville, WI and Lisa (Kerry) King of Beloit, WI; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Michele and brother, Everette. A memorial visitation of remembrance will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 in the Daley Murphy Wisch Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd. , Beloit, WI.
