George Augustus Lund, 97, of Lyndonville, VT, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at St. Johnsbury Health and Rehabilitation. George was born on March 17, 1921, at home in Granby, VT, to Edward and Gladys (Tyler) Lund. He was raised in Granby and attended local schools, walking 3 miles each way with his siblings.

George worked as a self-employed Contractor in the area. His carpentry can be seen in houses and buildings from Barre to Lyndonville. On June 16, 1951, he married Hope Jackson and shared 67 years with her until her death on April 13, 2017.

They lived together in their home in Lyndonville for 64 of those years. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and many outdoor activities. He raised bees for many years.

He also was a very skilled gardener. George spent many years caring for his beloved wife, Hope, in their home. The family would like to thank St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab for their wonderful care of George over the last year.

George is survived by his 3 daughters: Marjorie Brusetti and husband, Carl, of Barre, VT, Nancy Snyder and husband, Mark, of Morrisonville, NY, and Katherine Rutledge and husband, Ken, of Barnet, VT; a sister: Elsie Cady and husband, Clark, of Lyndonville, VT; 6 grandchildren: Christopher, Craig, and Carla Brusetti, Adam Snyder, Erin Knox, and Erica Conaway; and 9 great-grandchildren: Beckah, Christine, Elizabeth, Evelyn, Zen, Isaac, Meredith, Charlotte, and Miles. George was predeceased by his two older sisters: Izola Irwin and Helen Farmer; his brothers: Henry; and twin siblings: Milton Lund and Minnie Olson. George and his brother, Milton, passed away on the same day; Milton in the early hours of the morning and George in the early afternoon.

The families will be celebrating their lives together in one service on Saturday, April 21, 2018, 5PM, at the Lower Waterford/ 3rd Congregational Church. Rev. Barbara Dwyer and Rev.

Anne Hockridge will share the honor of officiating the service. The family will receive guests for visitation from 4PM until the hour of service. Burial for George and Hope will be on Monday, June 4, 2018, 1PM, at Lyndon Center Cemetery.
