OBITUARY George C. Payne December 4, 1944 – July 12, 2018 George C. Payne passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018, in Wichita Falls, TX following his courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 4, 1944 in Tuskegee, Alabama to parents George & Minnie Payne. He met his future bride Nancy Lee Stock at the Pleasure Time Roller Rink in Long Beach, CA.

They were married on October 7, 1967 in California. George moved his family to Texas in 1985. He worked odd jobs throughout his lifetime.

However, his favorite hobbies were mowing yards, going to garage sales and fishing at Gordon Lake in Iowa Park, TX with his wife Nancy. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. George is survived by his sons George C. Payne III and wife Nealie of Burkburnett, TX, Gary L. Payne of Burkburnett, TX, Leonard (Andy) Payne and wife Julie of Iowa Park, TX: sister Bobbie Ann Payne of Alabama; grandchildren James Pruitt, Ricky Pruitt, Gregory Beeson, Zachary Payne, Timothy Payne, Levi Payne, Kyle Payne, Kirsten Payne, Presley Payne, Wyatt Payne, numerous great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents George & Minnie Payne, wife Nancy L. Payne, his brothers Charles (Clifford), Bennie, Douglas Payne, his sisters Dorothy (Payne) Stewart, Doris Dale Payne, Barbara (Payne) May, Vera May (Payne) Chadwick, Bettie (Payne) Starnes, 2 great-grandchildren Kason Michael Payne, Jaxon Able Payne and daughter-in-law Laura Payne. Funeral arrangements will be private.
