George Dean Butler, longtime Cushing resident and disabled veteran of the United States Marines, passed away Thursday morning, January 3, 2019 at his residence at the age of 59 years. The son of the late George H. Butler, Sr., and Juana Vanaerman Butler, George was born on June 18, 1959 in Pawnee, OK and was raised and educated in Cushing. Following High School he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp.

He loved watching football, boxing and war movies and was a golden glove boxer. … Read More » He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by all. Surviving include his children, Brandon Butler, Jonathan Butler, Georgi Lowe and Shady Lowe; his siblings, George Butler, Jr. and his wife Tammy, Rachel Schexnider and her husband Tim, Carla Schexnider and her husband Herbert, Pearl Marie Williams and her husband Jerome, Carl Butler, II and Robert Butler; two grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Butler; one sister Darlene Butler and two brothers Dewey Butler and Roland Butler. Graveside services will be held Monday, January 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Butler Family Cemetery. Full military services will be conducted at the cemetery.
