George “Dub” Laird July 09, 1938 – May 15, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card Mr. George William Laird, 80, a resident of Gleason, died Wednesday May 15, 2019, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday at East View Cemetery with Rev. Carl Kizer officiating.

Pallbearers will be Will Elliott, Jesse Payne, Gary Thomas, Jeremy Cole, Jeremy Wheeler and Shannon Ballard. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:45 pm Saturday at White-Ranson Funeral Home. Mr. Laird was born on July 9, 1938, in Gibson County, TN, son of the late Jesse and Nellie (Russell) Laird.

He married the former Sandra Insco on December 24, 1960. She survives. He worked as a truck driver for thirty-five years, and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Laird is also survived by three daughters and their spouses, Laura (Gary) Thomas of Dresden, Sherry (Jeremy) Cole of South Fulton and Julie Laird of Gleason; eight grandchildren, Crystal Brady, Justin Laird, Will Elliott, Amanda Ballard, Shannon Payne, Misty Kouns, Jesse Payne and Danielle Rodriquez; fifteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Lillie Bell of South Fulton; and a brother, James “Pete” Laird of Martin.
