George E, Eby III, of Elizabethtown passed away on May 18, 2019. He was the husband of Peggy Heisey Eby. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Hamaker Eby passed in June 1998 and an infant son Paul.

He is survived by his children, George E. IV, married to Serena Eby of Elizabethtown, and Deborah Ebersole of Manheim, and his grandchildren; Kathy Eby, Erin (Colin) Guisbert, Kimberly Ebersole, George Eby V, and Alexa Eby. Also, surviving are his siblings, Robert (Myrtle) Eby, Harold (Sunny) Eby, and Sara (Ernie) Lamping. A brother LeRoy also preceded him in death.

George was a graduate of Elizabethtown High School, class of 1957. He proudly served in the US Army Reserves from 1954 to 1958. George worked for the former Raymark Ind.

of Manheim until his retirement. He was an active member of Elizabethtown Brethren In Christ Church, where he was a member of the choir. A community volunteer, George served as a midget football coach for the Elizabethtown Boys Club, performed as a clown and supporter for the Make A Wish Foundation, and enjoyed his time serving as a conductor for the Middletown & Hummelstown Railroad.

A Funeral Service honoring George’s life will be held at the Elizabethtown Brethren In Christ, 996 E High St, Elizabethtown, on Thursday, May 23 at 11 AM. A viewing will be held at the Sheetz Funeral Home, Inc., 16 East Main St., Mount Joy on Wednesday, May 22 from 6 to 8 PM and again at the Church on Thursday morning from 10 to 11 AM. Interment will be held following the service in Elizabethtown Mennonite Cemetery.
