Obituary for George Floyd Philpot Jr Floyd Philpot went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 22, 2018 at age 80. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Brenda Philpot; three sons, Danny (Jan) Juliano, George Philpot, and Bill (Terri) Philpot; three grandsons, Taylor (Kelsee) Philpot, Landon Philpot, and Braden Philpot; three great grandchildren, Preslee, Nolan, and Vivi Philpot; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd & Lola Philpot and two sisters, Beverly Walker and Patsy Swanson.

He was a 1956 graduate of Mortimer Jordan High School. He was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church. Floyd was also a member of Gardendale Masonic Lodge as well as the Gardendale Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

He served as Worthy Grand Patron of the Alabama Order of the Eastern Star 1999-2000. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at The New Gardendale Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with burial at Moncrief Cemetery.
