Novotny, 92 of rural Lidgerwood, ND passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at his home. A memorial service with military honors will be held Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.at the Frank Family Funeral Home, Lidgerwood, ND. George L. Novotny was born on February 25, 1926 to George & Anna (Prashek) Novotny, rural Lidgerwood, ND.

He attended rural school then farmed with his parents and brother. He entered the military on December 3, 1950 and was honorable discharged on December 17, 1956. He is a charter member of VFW Post 9317 at Mantador, ND.

George married Georgine Vlasaty on October 26, 1953 in Lidgerwood, ND. They moved southeast of Lidgerwood in 1957 and farmed the land all their lives. They raised 5 children.

George & his three sons farmed together. George is survived by his children: Connie (Paul) Leeman, West Fargo, ND & Bonnie Novotny, Roger Novotny & Doug Novotny all of Lidgerwood; 2 granddaughters and 4 great grandchildren; sister, Marion (Roland) Callen, Glenwood, MN and many nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Georgine; parents; son, Larry Novotny; brother & sister-in-law Benjamin & Virginia Novotny; sister Gertrude; sister & brother-in-law Rose & Dale Ketelboeter; sister& brother-in-law Helen & Gust Palzer; brother-in-law & sister-in-law Clarence & Margaret Vlasaty; sister-in-law Dorothy Vlasaty.
