George L. Rein, Jr., 91, of Londonderry Village, Palmyra passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018. Born January 21, 1927 in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late George L., Sr. and Florence (Carpenter) Rein and the widower of Helen L. (McCreary) Rein. He was also preceded in death by sisters Evelyn Shaffner and Virginia Dietel.

Retired mechanic/service manager, he had worked for the former Kay Truck Rentals and Blake Cadillac both of Harrisburg. He had attended Lower Paxton Township High School, was a member of Palmyra Church of the Brethren and a U. S. Army Air Corp veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife of 38 years Mildred A. (Groff) Rein; children Cherrie L. Terry (Jonathan) of Carlisle, Jannelle L. Geertman (David) of Holland, Michigan, Timothy J. Long (Lorrie) of Palmyra, and Patricia A. Schylaske (Curt) of Halifax; grandchildren Kevin Geertman (Tarra), Tricia Schrotenboer (Brian), Rebekah Terry, Amy Ybarra (John), Joshua Long (Katie), Greta Schylaske (Sean), Benjamin Long (Sarah), Parker Schylaske, and Jena Golden (Erik); and six great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the DiMatteo Worship Center, Londonderry Village, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra preceded by a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Private interment in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Londonderry Village, Good Samaritan Fund, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra, PA 17078.
