Obituary for George Nelson Porcupine George Nelson Porcupine was born on July 30, 1939 in Pine Ridge, SD to Joseph Porcupine and Emma (No Fat) Porcupine. George made his journey to the Spirit World on December 28, 2018 at the White River Nursing Home in White River, SD. George attended Loneman School and graduated from there.

After graduation, he worked to help his family. George had an active lifestyle, he enjoyed playing card games, playing basketball, riding bike, and riding horses. George also enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews, and friends.

He loved telling jokes and making people laugh. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. George is survived by his sister, Louise (Porcupine) Stands of Minneapolis, MN; brothers, Sam and Gilmore Porcupine both of Oglala, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

George was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Porcupine; mother, Emma (No Fat) Porcupine; twin brother, Aaron and brother, Kenneth; and one sister Ione Rocky Mountain. Wake Services: One night wake service starting at 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM. Funeral Services: 1:00 PM, Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD.
