GEORGE R. DERAEDT, 75, of Woodstock passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Hearthstone Communities in Woodstock. He was born October 31, 1942 in Elgin Illinois. He spent over 50 years as a dedicated employee at Arnold Engineering in Marengo.

George lived to work he could always be found scrapping, working in the fields making hay, or fixing some piece of equipment. He is survived by his life long girlfriend Jacqueline Sullivan; sisters, Mary Wilson, and Madeline (Ron) Akerberg; brother, Joe (Sherry) DeReadt; nieces, Lindsay (Ken) Sabath, Brenda Kerschner, Stacy Akerberg, Rita (Bill) Makal; and nephews, Clint Wilson and Jay Gavers. He was preceded in death by his sister, Alice; mother, Irene; father, George Sr.; nephew, Travis Wilson; and niece, Wendy Gavers.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the 12:00 pm Funeral Service on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Schneider Leucht Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N. Seminary Avenue, Woodstock, IL. Interment will follow in the McHenry County Memorial Park Cemetery in Woodstock.
