Georgia Ann Kapp Brown February 22, 1943 ~ April 28, 2018 “Sweet” Georgia Brown – wife, mother grandmother, great-grandmother, and best friend, decided that she was finished with her “s#@* to do” here and moved on to join her parents, siblings, husband, & son on April, 28, 2018 to start another to-do list. She always did things her way and in her own time. This was one of them.
She was born February 22, 1943 in Ogden, Utah to Dirk (Dick) Richard Kapp and Edna Jane (Little) Kapp. She was the 2nd youngest child of 10 children. She is survived by one brother, and three sisters.
Her “formal” education ended with the Ninth grade, but she never stopped learning. She instilled this love in her children. Mom lived her life with stubbornness, honesty, quiet dignity and generosity.
She was outspoken, hard-working, dependable, and frequently laughed at herself; and others if the occasion called for it. Before retiring to care for her son, she worked in many fields, including waitressing, manufacturing, warehousing, and housekeeping. She worked for Fresenius, Rite Aid Distribution, and McKay Dee Hospital, to name a few.
She was a true “Jill-of-all-trades”. Her hobbies were many and varied; Yahtzee, embroidery, canning, baking, reading detective magazines, fishing, gardening, dancing, and cleaning the house; yes it was one of her “hobbies”. She taught herself how to upholster furniture and recovered her entire living room set, and her father’s favorite chair.
Mom had a beautiful voice. She loved to sing. Her talent was passed down to her children.
Each one of them learned at least on musical instrument. She is survived by two daughters; Terri Peek (Kelly) of Plain City, and Juliann (Juli) Chapman of Harrisville. She also had one son, Albert Boyde Brown (Deceased).
She has nine grandchildren; Brianna, Alyne, Nate (Sasha), Jeff (Sara), Trevor, Patric, Kaylene, Baleigh (Kobbie), and Gabriel. She also has 13 great-grandchildren; Alexandra, Bently, Brison, BrynLeigh, Bryler (Georgie), Emma, Erica, Kash, Lila, Ryker, Taizleigh, Tenly, and TJ. The family would like express their appreciation and thanks to the Harrisville 2nd Ward, family friend Scott Robertson, Officer Alicia Davis, Northview Fire Department and Dr. Stephen Wynn.
Thank you, for all of the respect, love and care provided over the years to Mom. Know that you touched her heart, and ours. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Harrisville 2nd Ward, 435 Harrisville Road.
The family will meet with friends on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden.
