Georgia Jean Dennis, 90, of Ackley, Iowa passed away February 7, 2019, at Grand JiVante in Ackley, Iowa. Funeral services for Georgia Dennis will be Friday, April 5, 2019, at the St. John’s United Church of Christ 716 3rd Avenue. Ackley, Iowa.

Inurnment will be at the Oak Wood Cemetery in Ackley. The Linn’s Funeral Home Ackley Chapel is helping the family with arrangements, and further information can be found at linnsfuneralhome.com. Georgia Jean Kuper was born August 16, 1928, in Ackley, Iowa to Gertrude (Boelman) Kuper and Folkert Kuper.

She graduated from Ackley High School in 1947 and was a lifelong member of St. John’s United Church of Christ. In 1952, Jean was united in marriage to Dale W. Dennis and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage, living in Postville, Iowa for many years before moving back to Ackley, Iowa in 1962. In 1964, she bought Jean’s Tot & Teen Shop, which she owned for 31 years before closing in 1995.

Georgia is preceded in death by her parents: Gertrude and Folkert Kuper; her loving husband, Dale; two brothers: George and Harm Kuper; two sisters: Tillie Harken and Lydia Bissell; and two nephews: Don Bissell and LaVerne Kuper. Georgia is survived by four nieces: Roxie Harken Ploeger (Gordon) of Decatur, Texas, Linda Kuper of Lakeland, Florida, LaVera Kuper Jarman (Keith) of Knoxville, Iowa, and Carol Bissell Willems of Arlington, Texas; and two nephews: William Bissell (JoAnne) of Little Rock Arkansas and Dallas Harken (Mary Kay) of Waterloo, Iowa.
