Obituary for Gerald C. Chipps Gerald Clark Chipps, 85, of Evansville, passed away Monday, July 02, 2018 at the Heritage Center. Gerald was born May 16, 1933 in Evansville to the late Arthur Chipps and Minnie (Botsch) Chipps. He was a 1951 graduate of F. J. Reitz High School where he was a proud member of “The Marching 100” where he played clarinet.

Gerald started working at Keller Crescent as a senior in high school and worked there his entire life. He made many lifelong friends while working there as a production engineer for 47 years before his retirement in 1998. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea and a lifelong member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, St. Boniface Catholic Church and the R-Men’s Club.

Prior to his decline in health, Gerald enjoyed spending time at his house at Lake Barkley where he enjoyed fishing, boating and working in the yard. Gerald had many close friends who he enjoyed playing clabber with weekly. He loved attending his grandsons sporting events and following Reitz athletics.

In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Geraldine (Simpson) Chipps. Surviving Gerald are his children, Debra Woods, Randy (Jackie) Chipps and Julie (Mike) Morrow; seven grandsons, John (fiancée, Ashley), Brian (fiancée, Brandy) and Daniel (Karli) Woods, Matt (Ashley) and Corey (Andrea) Chipps, Dalton and Carson Morrow along with five great grandchildren and one more on the way. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 6, 2018 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Rev.

John Brosmer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 7:00 on Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:30 AM until service time on Friday at St. Agnes Catholic Church.
