Juanita (Edwards) Townsend, 98, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018, at West River Health Campus. Juanita was born in Slaughters, Kentucky, on June 27, 1920, to the late Ivan and Cordie (King) Edwards. She worked at Evansville Public Library at the charge desk.

Juanita volunteered at Deaconess for 27 years as a pink lady and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Carl A. Townsend; son, Paul David Townsend; son-in-law, John Portlock; parents; an infant sister; brothers, J.R. Edwards, Norval Edwards, and Ivan Edwards, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave.

with Pastor Mark Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9:00 AM until service time on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Browning Funeral Home.
