Obituary for JoAnn Bowers JoAnn (Hudson) Bowers, 86, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Golden Living Center Woodlands surrounded by family. JoAnn was born April 5, 1932 in Evansville to the late Clifford Hudson and Dorothy (Burdette) Hudson Schoening. She was a homemaker; but had also worked as a waitress at Franklin Drug Store and as a reading aide with the EVSC.

She had attended Forest Hills Wesleyan Church and enjoyed dancing at the Eagles. Surviving JoAnn are her two daughters, Debra Sue (Morris) Fife of Louisville, KY and Donna Gayle (David) Johnson of Henderson, KY; two grandchildren, Jessica (Isaac Clay) Taylor and Hilliary (Michael) Juncker; two great grandchildren, Adele and Lucas and three brothers, Gary Schoening, Michael Schoening and Larry Schoening. In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Donald Bowers in 2013; by her step father, Gil Schoening and by two sisters, Betty Ripplemeier and Connie Richardt.

Funeral services for JoAnn will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Michael Stoelting. Burial will follow in Tupman Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday and from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences may be made online at www.
