OBITUARY Donald Hicks August 15, 1929 – September 25, 2018 Donald “Don” Hicks, 89, of Evansville, IN, passed away September 25, 2018. He was born August 15, 1929, in Chatham, New York, to the late Harmon and Anna Laura Hicks. Don retired from Aerochem and also worked at Altec in Anaheim, CA.

He previously worked for Commercial Barge and Servel in Evansville, IN. Don was a Veteran of the US Army National Guard and a member of Grace Baptist Church. He was in a bowling league in California and enjoyed eating at The Carousel in Evansville.

Don also enjoyed talking to his twin brother, Richard Hicks who passed in 2016, on the CB radio. His CB buddies called him “Mr. Clean”. He is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Steven R. Hicks, Roger W. Hibbs, Steven M. Hibbs; brother, Richard Hicks; and sister, Bettie Freestone.

Don is survived by his wife of 46 years, Alta (Moore) Hicks; sons, Jim D. Hibbs (Myra), Donnie L. Hicks (Veronica); daughters, Sharyl A. Martinez (Rudy), Saundra “Sandy” K. Balsdon, Cynthia F. Henderson; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held 12:00 Noon on Friday, September 28, 2018, at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, officiated by Rev. Jason Paul, with entombment in Sunset Memorial Park where military services will be held.

Friends may visit from 10:00 AM until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church and Deaconess VNA Hospice. Condolences may be made online at AlexanderEastChapel.com.
