Effie May Thomason, age 96, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Newburgh Healthcare Center. Effie was born November 26, 1921, in Evansville, IN, to Louie Ottis and Sina May (Ledbetter) Stephens. She was a past member of Bible Center Cathedral.

Effie graduated from Central High School. She retired from Welborn Baptist Hospital in the Housekeeping Department. Effie is survived by daughter, Mary Thomason of Evansville, IN and nephews, David and Daniel Stephens of Evansville, IN.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Thomason; son, William “Bill” Thomason; and niece, Tana Stephens. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Heart to Heart Hospice for their care and loving kindness. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL. Memorial Contributions may be made to: Heart to Heart Hospice, 415 E. Sixth St., Jasper, IN, 47546.
