Obituary for Donald R. McCandless Donald R. McCandless, 72, of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at his residence. Donald was born May 16, 1946 in Evansville, IN to the late Amber and Mary Lucille (Smith) McCandless.

He was employed as a bearing salesman in industrial sales. He was a 1964 graduate of Bosse High School, a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and Riverbend Association. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals, IU and U of E basketball and working crossword puzzles.

Surviving Don is his wife of 40 years, Faye (Galloway) McCandless, his daughter, Ginny McCandless (Jared Cook) of Evansville and Zeb (Kara) McCandless of Jacksonville, FL. Also surviving is one brother, Terry McCandless of Baytown, TX. He was a loving uncle to Lisa, Joe, Kevin, Roger, Shea and Kenneth Jason Galloway.

He will also be missed by his cat, Molly, and granddog, Layla. In additions to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Keister and brother, Stanley McCandless. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, Rev.

Dennis Wathen officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home.
