Mrs. Dorothy Frances Porter, age 73 of Oak Grove, TN, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN. Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 29, 2018 with burial to follow at Felts Cemetery in Auburn, KY. Dorothy was born February 2, 1945 in Franklin, KY to the late Wally Lester Cook and Vernie Earline Cook.

She was the wife of the late Leonard Porter and was preceded in death by her siblings Sue Cook, Jean Forbes, and Mallie Jarrett, and 3 of her children, Dennis Ray Huff, Donald Wayne Huff, and Doris Ann Huff. She is survived by her children, Danny Lee Huff of Gallatin, TN, Delois Reagan and her husband Tim of Westmoreland, TN, Daniel Benjamin Huff Jr. and his wife Kaye of Springfield, TN, Douglas Huff of Goodlettsville, TN, Travis Porter and his wife Sonja of Portland, TN, Curtis Porter of Portland, TN, Sharon McAdams of Ohio, Marvin Porter and his wife Vanessa of Clarksville, TN, Teresa Porter of Gallatin, TN, Leonard “Monk” Porter of Clarksville, TN, Dennis Porter and his wife Karla of Bardstown, KY, and Cheryl Porter of Russellville, KY. , 32 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Dorothy was a retired custodian for Vol State Community College and was a member of New Hope General Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM Friday, September 28, 2018 and from 6:00 AM until time of service on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Gilbert Funeral Home.
