OBITUARY Darrell W. Day July 10, 1950 – August 27, 2018 Darrell Wayne Day, 68, of Evansville, passed away Monday, August 27, 2018 at Deaconess Midtown. He was born July 10, 1950 in Evansville to the late Walter and Shirley (Dempsey) Day. He worked at Deaconess Hospital for almost 49 years, retiring two years ago.

Darrell played volleyball for many years, loved fishing, was an avid bingo player and enjoyed IU basketball. He was a real jokester, and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Darrell is survived by his wife of 44 years, Debra (Ripple) Day; sons, Daniel Wayne Day (Emily) of Newburgh and Derek Robert Day (Jessica) of Evansville; daughter, Dianna “Dee” Day Gibson (Fred) of Henderson; grandchildren, Paige Gibson, Logan Day, Tori Gibson, Keira Day and Eli Day; brother, David Day of Evansville; sister, Cheryl Higgs (Ronald) of Mt.

Vernon; sisters-in-law, Carol Derflinger, Karen Bauer and Dianna Johnson, and nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00AM, Saturday, September 1, 2018 at North Park Wesleyan Church, 3360 N. 1st Avenue, officiated by Pastor Steve Boardman. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
