Mrs. Vera M. Estes, 73, of Franklin, KY, passed away Tuesday, September 25th, 2018 at 7:49 PM at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, September 30, 2018 with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY. Vera was born August 15, 1945 in Ohio, Co., KY.

to the late George Thomas Burden and the late Golda Katherine Goodman Burden. She was the wife of the late James Virgil “Jimmy” Estes. 2 sisters Lucy Butler and Lela Faye Daughtery, a niece Katherine Rogers and a great niece Heather Nicole Daugherty preceded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter Debbie Estes Strickland of Franklin, KY, a son Timothy Wayne Phelps (Anita) of Franklin, KY, a brother Ezra Burden (Nellie) of Morgantown, KY, a sister Vena D. Webb of Franklin, KY, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Vera was a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She was retired cook for the Simpson County School System.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association. Online condolences may be made at www.
